No Sir, I'm Not on the Menu, a 13 minute TV drama written by Caroline Duck and Saraleigh Castelyn won awards for Best Writer and Best Teamwork at the M-Net Edit 2000 Awards ceremony held in March.

These two awards are in addition to a regional National Television Association (NTVA) Craft Award to Duck for directing a video; to Karen McKay for editing and camera, and a bronze award for a video production. The video was one of 10 finalists selected for broadcast in late 2000.

No, Sir, I’m Not on the Menu was a collaboration between the Programme for Drama and Performance Studies and the Graduate Programme in Cultural and Media Studies (CMS) at the University of Natal. Chris Hurst from Drama acted as project supervisor while Keyan Tomaselli and Ruth Teer-Tomaselli acted as executive producers. The project was sponsored by M-Net and all training institutes were invited to make pitches.

The video deals with a restaurant manager's sexual harassment of two waitresses and their subsequent revenge. It explores the abuse of power, betrayal, violence and sexual perversity and female vigilantism. The music was provided by Fruit Fly Navigators and the actors included Castelyn, Rakau Boikanyo, John van de Ruit and Krijay Govender, with costumes by Leigh Keyser.
