Eager Artists is a theatre company founded by director Jerry Pooe in 1993. To date, the company has produced several educational and industrial plays, together with a range of full-scale thought-provoking productions.

In February 2000, Eager Artists presented a musical called Peace in The Valley which received rave reviews. This musical was invited by PACOFS (Performing Arts Council of the Orange Free State) to perform in Bloemfontein where it was also well received.

This year it has been invited to The Market Theatre in Johannesburg. However, The Market is under financial constraints and the management has asked Eager Artists to try to raise funding for the show.

“We feel honoured to be invited by such a highly respected theatre,” says Jerry Pooe, “and it would be wonderful to be able to perform there. So we are appealing for financial assistance for the production which will cost R250 000.”
