NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. Sharkbrother's release of their album Taj Mahala features the talents of Cobus Rossouw (guitar and vocals) Steve Savage (bass, programming and vocals) and Sam Goosen (violin and vocals). It pursues the Sharkbrother philosophy that rejects popular modern shock tactics in art and embraces a return to aesthetics. The album includes two experimental electronic tracks as well as a remix of The Sea by Jeff Fletcher. The first of the two experimental tracks, simply called 3rd Set is a 19 minute musical collage of 1920's nostalgia samples, a Serbian folk song and strong anti-war themes. Americans, the second electronic track , takes a hard look at the Americanized nature of our culture. The album was engineered by Steve Savage at the Sharktank.
