Holly, the four-week old baby daughter of popular showbiz couple Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert, was tragically killed in a freak accident yesterday (August 27). The children were strapped into their child car seats and Lisa had asked her housekeeper Lucy Xolo to help take them out of the car whilst she ran into the house.

As Lucy stepped forward to release Holly, their two-year old daughter Kaylee unstrapped herself and hopped into the back seat to help remove her baby sister and unstrapped her. The car suddenly started rolling backwards and struck the boundary wall and it is surmised that the impact threw Holly into the front against the dashboard and onto the floor. The passenger door slammed shut, hitting the baby’s head.

“We don’t really know what happened,” said a traumatised Lisa, “but we can only assume that the gear lever or handbrake was knocked.”

While based in Durban, Aaron and Lisa are well known around the country for their highly popular shows Sex, Bugs and Rock ‘n Roll and ABBA Maniacs. Earlier this year, they suffered major financial loss when all their portable technical equipment was stolen.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalised. No flowers by request, any donations to Open Door on (031) 709-2679. Any enquiries should be directed to Aaron and Lisa’s publicist Sharon Brown on 083 292-5324 or e-mail commcon@iafrica.com
