The School of Music at the University of Natal Durban presents its own NU Big Band directed by Dr Mike Rossi in a free-lunch-hour concert to be held on Monday (May 22) in Howard College Theatre on the Durban campus at 12h15.

The 20-piece NU Big Band comprises some of the UND’s finest music students and performs from a wide repertoire that stretches across the 20th Century and beyond. From the big band library of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Thad Jones to jazz fusion artists Herbie Hancock and Josef Zawinal to South African favourites by Abdullah Ibrahim and Jonas Gwangwa, there will be something for all tastes. Entrance is free and all are welcome.
