This year, the annual music festival Splashy Fen held in Underberg, is proud to include Britain’s top contemporary artiste, Colin Vearncombe from the British group Black. Colin will perform with South African session musicians, Concord Nkabinde and Barry Van Zyl on the Redds Bamboo Mountain Stage on April 28.

The Redds Bamboo Mountain Stage operates from April 27 to 30 from 12h00 to 19h00 daily and presents popular contemporary styles of music from around the world with special emphasis on South Africa. Featuring a variety of world music artistes, it also includes traditional South African styles such as kwaito and traditional Zulu as well as blues, jazz, rock, and acoustic guitar.

Other artistes performing on this stage are Sam Corey from the River Detectives (Scotland), Hothouse Flowers (Ireland), the avant-garde jazz outfit No No Diet Bang Band (Switzerland.), Young Ba Kuba (Democratic Republic of Congo) Lamine Konte (Senegal) and D’Gary (Madagascar). South African bands are Tim Parr Band, Vusi Ximba, Amakool and No ID with Caffeine Substitute and Lalela coming from Durban.
