“Durban has loads of talent!” This is the opinion of vocal coach Rosa de Castro. The future of the music industry rests on the unearthing of this as yet undiscovered treasure.

There are singers of all ages who have no doubt often wondered how they could break through into the music industry; how could they get a chance to show off their singing talent. If you’ve ever wondered how you could get further than the karaoke competition at your local pub, or perform at more than your school musical or church choir, now is your chance!

With prizes ranging from hair-do’s from Headboyz, musical equipment from Music Inc, recording time and winning a part in a real professional production among others, Rosa de Castro is staging So You Think You Can Sing? at the Dockyard Theatre in Musgrave Centre.

The contestants who get through the prelims will compete the heats divided into three age group categories initially: juniors ages 9 to 12; ages 13 to 20 and age 21 and over. There is no upper age limit.
