Tusk Inn, home of the Durban Folk Club on Monday nights, has answered the need for a venue dedicated to the blues in all its forms. The Blues Train is a club that will meet every Wednesday to offer various musicians and styles of blues. Once a month, it will host the Blues Supersessions featuring invited artistes. A revolving house band will perform as a unit and also as a backing band for soloists. Some of the band members are John Alen, Will Wallace, Ronnie McNamara, Don Hastings, Dave Atkinson and ‘Smelly’ Fellows .

The two star acts for the opening of The Blues Train on April 5 will be Syd Kitchen, well known for his dedication and innovation, and Richard Haslop, acknowledged as one of the purest exponent and leading authority on the blues in South Africa

Following the success of The Blues Room in Johannesburg, The Blues Train is the ideal vehicle to promote Durban’s blues artistes and their music and also affords those not yet heard to break their silence. Membership is open to everyone and fees are R75 (individuals), R100 (per couple) and R50 (students and pensioners).
