Yesterday late afternoon (June 3) saw the passing of one of South Africa’s most respected and revered sons of theatre, Alfred Dudley Nokwe, who died peacefully at home at the age of 72 while watching television with his beloved wife Patti seated next to him.

Alfred’s contribution to the South African theatre and television industry is incalculable. The father of Marilyn (Mango Groove) and Tu Nokwe, his other children and grandchildren have either made their mark – or are making it – in showbusiness.

Further tribute to follow shortly.
