Tara, Dain & Steve Fataar and band are Avatar. A South African musical heritage, Avatar carries a legacy of familial ties and world-engaging music. While Steve's counterparts (brother and kin) Ricky and Blondie (The Flames) play with Bonnie Raitt and The Rolling Stones respectively to global audiences, Steve plays a slightly more conservative role of dad while nourishing national audiences.Avatar comes from the Flames, comes from Steve's musical pioneering, comes from Tara's vocal versatility, comes from Dain's contemporary vocal manoeuvres and from home. Having played The Cape Town Festival, The Southern Cross Festival, Splashy Fen (6 consecutive times), Awesome Africa Festival, Womad and venues like the City Hall, The Playhouse, The Imax Theatre in Cape Town, The BAT Centre and more the question is asked - what now?

The answer - an album titled Avatar. No official release date has been set, but the Fataars plan to promote its availability at local performances. Avatar will perform at Luna Lounge on September 2 at 17h00 for 17h30. Cover R45. More information on 072 280 1949.
