Every year, Northcliff High School comes to Durban with a talented cast to perform a musical in the Playhouse. This is thanks to the visionary leadership of the school which believes that if the sports teams can go on tour, so can the drama team. Thus, the learners get to work in a professional theatre environment and get a holiday into the bargain!

This year’s musical, Crazy for You is a Gershwin classic, a romantic comedy about a playboy who is forced to go to a sleepy mining town to foreclose the mortgage on a dormant theatre. Instead he finds love!

In the leading female role is Carmen Pretorius, a talented actress who has been invited to go to Los Angeles for a singing competition.

The show contains favourites such as I Got Rhythm, Embraceable You and They Can’t Take That Away from Me. There are many energetic dance sequences including tap dancing.

Crazy for You runs in the Playhouse from June 26 to July 1 with performances at 19h30. There are extra performances at 14h00 on June 30 and at 15h00 on July 1.Tickets from R20 to R55 booked through Computicket.
