The string quartets of Borodin, Haydn and Webern form part of a chamber music concert to take place at the St George's Garrison Church in Pietermaritzburg on June 17 at 15h00. The award winning Blue Velvet String Quartet present a classical programme of music by Anton Webern - his Langsamer Satz Sat, an expressive single movement work - a charmingly classical quartet by Haydn and the beautifully romantic String Quartet No 2 by Russian composer Alexander Borodin. This quartet includes the celebrated Notturno, probably the composer’s most familiar composition, often played as a separate movement. Tickets R60. There will be secure parking.
