A key event in the ninth annual African Renaissance Festival, hosted at venues throughout Durban from May 22 to 26, is the Africa Day Concert to be held at the magnificent new ICC Arena on May 25, featuring a sparkling line up of musicians.

The all-star line up includes the Afro Tenors, Malaika, and SAMA award winning maskandi outfit, Shwi noMtekhala. A full entertainment programme including choral groups, has been put together in conjunction with the Playhouse Company under the guidance of Linda Bukhosini with direction by Gerard Samuel.

As well as showcasing some fine South African music, the concert affords ticket-holders the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the country’s most influential decision-makers and some of our most glamorous celebrities.

The theme being explored at this year’s African Renaissance Festival, is the search for a shared African identity through peace, security, democracy and development through partnerships. Highlights of the festival include a major two day conference; a youth evening; a day-long NEPAD programme; a seminar entitled Unity of Faith and a closing civic banquet.

The Africa Day Concert will be held at the new ICC Arena on May 25 at 19h00 and is open to the public. Ticket prices have been kept low to ensure as many fans as possible can enjoy the feast of music. Tickets R30 only through Computicket.
