After appearing as the headline act at the Splashy Fen Festival and delivering a stomping solo show to a packed tent and excited audience, South African multiple award-winning acoustic guitarist Tony Cox brings his electrifying acoustic guitar show to the Luna Lounge in Botha’s Hill this month.

Over the past five years, Tony Cox has become increasingly busy as an international performer and will be heading off to the UK, Germany and Canada in late 2007.

In Germany he appears in the Open Strings International Guitar Festival held in Osnabrueck alongside some of the finest guitar players in the world and in Canada he is booked to perform an exhausting 28-theatre tour over a six-week period.

Tony Cox’s performances as a soloist have taken on an extraordinary depth and power as the guitarist heads into his mid-fifties. Many excellent guitar players send an audience to sleep after the fourth or fifth tune. Not so with Tony Cox. Mixing it up with story-telling, spontaneous humour and his jaw-dropping guitar skills, he grabs an audience by the throat and doesn’t let go until he walks off stage, usually to a standing ovation as the audience howls for more.

Tony Cox will perform at Luna Lounge, Botha’s Hill from Fridays to Sundays from May 11 to 27. More information on 072 280 1949.
