A series of highly informative and tailor-made workshops during Heritage month will see Moshito's position as a leading force on the South African music scene come to the fore.

Under the banner of Celebrating Our Music, Our Heritage, the workshops form part of the Department of Arts and Culture's month of Heritage activities this September - a programme of events that is support by Moshito Conference and Exhibition, a Section 21 company that was formed for the specific purpose of organising an annual music conference and market on behalf of the music industry and the government.

The workshops created by Moshito for Heritage month cover careers and networking in the music industry, how to record and market a demo, negotiating a record deal and understanding contracts, musicians rights, mainstreaming indigenous music instruments and performance skills. Facilitators include CCP Record Company A&R and label manager, Vusi Leeuw, Tshepo Nzimande of Bula Records as well as Zuko Pokwana, Sello Galane of Kiba Music, Madala Kunene, among others.

The KwaZulu-Natal workshop will take place on October 5.

As part of Moshito's outreach programme, the Heritage Month workshops play an important role in fulfilling Moshito's mission to have an impact on role-players in the music industry throughout South Africa.
