South African acoustic guitarist Tony Cox pays another visit to the UK this August performing in several festivals and clubs, some of whom are hosting him for the second and third times.

The acclaimed musician has steadily developed his international tours starting back in 2002 by being invited to perform for the Lewes International Guitar Festival near Brighton and this year invited back to perform at the same festival. Since then his bookings have tripled and each time he goes back he gets to perform on an ever widening circuit.

After his stint in the UK, Cox will go on to perform in Zurich, Switzerland, and then to Germany in September where he will record and perform for Peter Finger's Acoustic Music Records label. Peter Finger himself is one of the world's finest acoustic finger-style guitarists.

Cox's performances in Germany take place in Osnabruck, Frankfurt and Leipzig. He'll be home for October and then November will see him showcasing his skills at the CAPACOA arts conference in Canada.

Cox's latest DVD/CD release recorded live at the Grahamstown National Festival of the Arts was recently nominated in the best instrumental category at the South African Music Awards (SAMA 12). This will be his fifth nomination with two wins for Matabele Ants in 2001 and China in 2003.
