Head for the Rainbow Restaurant tomorrow for the Pat Matshikiza Band in concert with support act Umkhumbane Blues Band.

“With a corporate performance for the band at the Vodacom Durban July on July 1 we decided that it would be good to make use of the wonderful eight piece group that we are putting together for this and do a show at the Rainbow, “ explained Rainbow co-owner, Neil Comfort.

Opening the afternoon just before 13h00 will be the six member acapella group, the Umkhumbane Blues Band. After that Pat Matshikiza (piano) will be joined on stage by Philani Ngidi on bass guitar, Jerry Kunene on saxophone, Paki Peloele on drums, Zoco Dimande on guitar, Bheki Luthuli on trumpet, Nothando Nkomo on trombone and vocals and Nathi Zuma on vocals.

Expect an afternoon filled with tunes from Pat Matshikiza's extensive songbook as well as many tracks from his 2005 release Seasons, Masks and Keys.
