Fifty choirs from all over KwaZulu-Natal meet in the Durban Playhouse this coming weekend (from June 24) for the annual two-day Provincial Arts and Culture Choral Eisteddfod.

The choirs have been selected from competitions at district level and will be competing for more than 20 trophies in classical and African choral categories. The Eisteddfod will also see the selection of a composite 160-voice KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Choir to perform at official functions.

The Eisteddfod starts at 09h00 on June 24 in the Playhouse Opera and continues until the following evening. It will be addressed about noon on June 25 by the MEC for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Weziwe Thusi.
