The Mountain Gathering 200 takes place in Rustlers Valley on New Year’s Eve and will focus on world music with a strong African flavour in keeping with the initiation of the Millennium of Sacred Music.

An Ayahuasca ceremony is planned for the week leading up to New Years Eve with Drum & Dance workshops, Sweat Lodges and Sound Journey. The ceremony will be led by Prof Eduardo Luna, world authority on the Ayahuasca tradition of the Amazon jungle. New Years Eve itself will be a dynamic funky world music party throughout the weekend. Performing live are Asazi, Grupo Timbila De Zavala, Vusi Mkhize and Sakhula, and Iumgqumo weAfrica, with DJ - Niki Blumenfeld (Radio - Khaya FM), with more musicians and DJ's to be confirmed. New Years Day will be a celebration for the children with a parade, theatre activities and many exciting games.

Tickets at R199.90 for the full-day festival are limited to 2000 and booking is at Computicket. Families and children are especially welcome and camping is the only accommodation option. Firewood and food will be on sale but the rule is ABSOLUTELY NO dogs as they “frighten the wildlife and eat the ducks!” Gates open on December 30.
