Grammy award winning group; Black Eyed Peas are up to business again – Monkey Business, that is. The group’s fourth album Monkey Business is the follow-up to the successful Elephunk album and was produced and recorded during the group’s everlasting road trip.

The group has earned fans worldwide with their inventive approach to hip hop music, inspiring people with their loose rhymes, and a positive spirit and funk-afied vibe. Channel O strongly supports this hip-hop group and the programme will find out the inspiration behind their 3rd album Elephunk.

The album was recorded in three different spurts over two years, beginning in 2001. “We would record about eight songs each time,” remembers will.i.am, the group’s member and producer. “Then each time we went back, I felt I’d changed and grown as a producer. So we’d do eight more songs, and those eight would be better than the previous eight. It kept going until we were done.”

Songs like Where is the Love with Justin Timberlake and Louis Armstrong’s Smells like Funk demonstrate not just a sophisticated ear for new sounds but a head for interesting arrangement and tight song writing.

The group has been nominated for this year’s American Music Awards which take place on November 22nd. While waiting to see if they take the award home, join them on Channel O’s Crush on November 5 at 18h00 with a re-broadcast on November 13 at 20h00. Channel O is available on the DStv bouquet on channel 87.
