On October 27, the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra will pay special tribute to Dr Vera Dubin, long-time supporter of classical music in Durban and the founder of Friends of Music.

She recently celebrated her 80th birthday and the KZNPO has enjoyed a long collaborative association with Vera and the Friends of Music. The concert on October 27 is considered the ideal opportunity to acknowledge her significant contribution to orchestral music in Durban.

Professor Lionel Bowman, doyen of music in South Africa, who has been a lifelong friend of Vera, is flying especially from Cape Town to be at the concert and will say a few words about her to the audience.
