Drama teacher Gillian Botha died last month of cancer. A contemporary of former head of the University of Natal’s drama department, Pieter Scholtz, she had numerous drama qualifications. “She was one of Chekov’s eternal scholars and was always eager to explore new horizons,” says singer and friend Mim Erasmus. “She spent the last year in China teaching English. All her students will miss her.”
