Veeramani Kannan, versatile and talented singer, music director and keyboard player has become a household name in South Africa. He is able to sing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and no song is impossible for him to perform. His songs range from devotional to classical to film hits. Despite having visited South Africa 12 times, his popularity has not dimmed and his programmes are still very much in demand.

Spiritual Journey is a concept wherein a musical tour is undertaken during the auspicious months of Purtassi/Navarathree. It has gained momentum and many temples use the opportunity to pay gratitude to their community and well wishers by hosting programmes gratis at their temples. Some even use the opportunity to host fund-raisers.

The organisers of this event are Vasantha Naidoo, Dineshren Naidoo and Veeramani Kannan himself. Despite being hard-pressed for funds, they persevere in offering this service at very nominal costs to host organisations.

Veeramani Kannan will be in the country on September 7 and starts his two month long tour in Cape Town. He then moves onto KwaZulu-Natal where he has a series of presentations, ending his tour in Gauteng. He is full of praise of South African artistes and is backed on his tours by local singers and musicians.

Veeramani Kannan produces and scores music for all the leading Devotional singers in the industry and sends a steady supply of Original CDs to South Aafrica. His latest Amman CD is presently available. These CD’s, along with other novelty items, are on offer to temples to assist them in raising funds.

Organisations interested in hosting Veeramani Kannan in a Spiritual evening should contact Vasantha Naidoo on 012 663 9645.
