On August 10, the Durban Folk Club will feature some of Durban's talented women musicians: Fiona Tozer, Shomon and Shanine Terreblanche (previously with the band Faulty now featuring her new band).

Fiona Tozer is a singer, guitarist and songwriter who has been part of the Durban music scene for many years. She is a veteran of eleven Splashy Fens and a regular performer at other national inter-club folk festivals, as well as local Durban venues. Her songs vary from haunting melodies for solo voice and guitar, to full-blown rock arrangements, while her lyrics comment on different aspects of the human condition, with empathy and sometimes satirical humour. She has released three albums; Odyssey with the band Bona Fide, and solo cd’s Neverland and Light and Sound, and her song Christmas Song was released on the Splashy Fen compilation. She teaches guitar, and is currently studying classical composition at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Music starts from 20h00 at Jammit Dammit, 473 Sydney Road. Food and bar available, secure parking. Entrance R20. More information from Fiona on 031 776 3458.
