Sunday lunch jazz sessions are to become a regular feature at the Bat Centre’s Bat Café. Kicking off the series of four concerts on November 28 at 13h00 will be the popular Durban jazz outfit, African Jazz Connection who perform original compositions inspired by African sounds, township jazz and fused with blues. The band is led by Xolani Msimang (drums) and features Nelson Gumede (keyboards), Mduduzi Mbhele (bass), Nonhlanhla Wanda, Zandile Mchunu and Thandi Mseleku on vocals.

Syd Kitchen & Amakool will pick up where African Jazz Connection leaves off to take jazz lovers into the night – or the early morning - with their stylised sophisticated sound. Tickets are R15 for each band. (See Lifesmart for Bat Café’s menu)
