The Italian Festival 2005, an initiative organised by the Embassy of Italy, promises to delight, entertain and make the public aware about the rich and varied heritage and culture of Italy – all with the magical touch of passion one expects from this country.

Among this year’s Italian Festival is an Opera Concert with artists from the Foundation Arena di Verona. They will perform with the KwaZulu-Natal Orchestra in its World Symphony Season Series concert on June 9 at 19h30 in the City Hall in Durban.

Opera pieces to be performed include: Verdi’s Nabucco and La Traviata, Puccini’s Tosca and Madama Butterfly, Giordano’s Andrea Chenier and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
