Pianist, singer, actress and dancer Judith Hawthorn has just produced her fourth professional show, Christmas with Judith & Friends, in which she features with the equally multi-talented Monique Hebrard, Thembelani Lwaca and Natalie Toyne. Monique has just completed her studies at Technikon Natal’s department of drama and performing arts while Thembelani Lwaca has just completed a Bachelor of Music degree in performance at the University of Natal. This rising young opera singer was seen recently in the department’s performance of Lakmé.

For many people unhappy about going out at night, the performers have the answer – they’ll take the show to private homes. All that’s required is a tuned piano and space for a crowd. Christmas with Judith & Friends deals with four Christmas workers employed by the Spirit of Christmas who are about to lose their jobs because the world has forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. Through songs such as Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Feliz Navidad and O Holy Night, the show rediscovers the true spirit of Christmas.

To preview the show, there will be public performances each Tuesday (14h30 and 19h00) and Friday (14h30) at the Waterfall Shopping Centre cinemas until December 17. Tickets at R15 and R20. Book at (031) 763-3243.
