Durban High School (DHS) has chosen Truly, Madly, Deeply as their musical production for 2005.

It is the story of a cynical man who gets a job supervising some patients in a mental hospital as they attempt to stage a musical. His views on life are soon put to the test, however, as he learns more about these lost and (in some cases) tortured souls.

“While the story is thus quite moving and, in places, unbearably funny, it is above all a story about love, and the people who are struck down by this strange affliction,” says director Donovan Fletcher. “To complement the story there is a collection of contemporary songs, and we are lucky to have some incredibly talented singers in the show. DHS Musicals have traditionally set very high standards, and we hope that everyone will join us to celebrate the talents of DHS’s students, not to mention the girls from Marist Stella, Girls High, Fatima and Crawford.”

Truly, Madly, Deeply opens on May 30 and it will run to June 2. The café opens at 18h00 offering a variety of food, sweets and drinks. The show begins at 19h00 and tickets are R25. To book, contact 031 277 1500.
