On February 19 and 26, TransAfrica Express is to host funk, jazz and hip-hop Durban hybrid sounds from Big Idea, a four piece group which has been making big waves on the Durban scene in recent months. The group features Gareth Gale on drumz, Dave Smith on keyz, D. Musgrave on bass and Quincy Fynn aka Q on rhymes.

At the first of their three gigs on February 5, Big Idea packed the venue out with just short of 200 people. Babar of the illShads was MC for the night as well as hitting the decks with DJ Papercut.

On February 19, the MC will be Ewok, also of illShads fame; DJ Papercut will once again be in attendance and there will be a special guest performance from the Maestro Family. The event starts at 21h00 with the live performance at 22h00. Tickets R20 at the door.
