If you’re game to stay up all night to watch top notch isicathamiya groups present their talents against stiff opposition, then don’t expect to get to bed on Saturday (November 6)! NBS and The Playhouse Company, in association with the South African Traditional Music Association and Ukhozi FM will present the 1999 KZN Playhouse Isicathamiya Festival which starts at 19h00 and runs through until the early hours of the morning.

This is the most prestigious annual choral competition in South Africa and it is expected that some 90 choirs from as far afield as Newcastle, Eshowe, Port Shepstone and many other centres will converge on the Playhouse for prestige, prizes and 12 hours of non-stop choral music. MCs for the evening will include Juba Special, and Ukhozi FM's Vicky Masuku and Thanda Ndlovu. Tickets (R15) at Computicket. Credit card bookings 369-9444 or TicketLine (a/h) on (031) 304-2753. Tickets will also be available at the Playhouse on the night. (The show forms part of the Playhouse “Summer Stage” sponsored by NBS)
