Super Starlets is the title of the next Catalina Classical Champagne Concerts which features four of Durban’s top young musicians in solo performance: top UKZN student violinist Sarah Pudifin (18); pianist Thomas Pooley who recently won the University’s Music Department piano competition; Robbie Pott a young clarinettist at the Durban Music School who has won a place in the upcoming Young Performers concert with the KZNPO, and Jacqueline Wedderburn-Maxwell.

At the tender age of 11, Jaqui is described as a sensational child violinist. She recently wowed audiences at the Proms not only in Durban, but in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. She plays on a 3/4 size violin and has just been awarded a full scholarship to study at the Yehudi Menuhin school in London, in September.

The Super Starlets concert will take place at Catalina Theatre, Wilson’s Wharf, on May 30 at 12h00. Tickets R60 (R50 concessions) and early booking is essential. Book at Catalina through Thandeka on 031 305 6889.
