The Zwelethu Education Development Foundation, together with Durban Arts Association and SA Zulu Dance, will host a music competition of gospel, isicathamiya and ingoma in the Mpumalanga Community Hall on June 15 from 08h00.

The idea is to showcase the talent of the Outer West area. Prizes offered are R1,000, R500 and R250. Admission is R10 (children R5). More details from Thami on 073 264 8481.

The music competition forms part of the Zwelethu Foundation’s aim, supported by Hillcrest Rotary and World Vision, to improve the living conditions and future lives of many of the surrounding communities, particularly the youth. Research was conducted among the schools in the Outer West area where it was discovered that over 1,000 children are in dire need and some are being sold by their parents for liquor and food.
