The first Sunday in June is set aside for the annual Starlight Pop Opera at the Durban Country Club with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and a sparkling line-up of stars.

In addition to a selection of light classics played by the KZNPO conducted by Dutch Maestro Arjan Tien, Yvonne Chaka Chaka will be featured on the programme performing such South African numbers as Umqombothi. Karen van Pletsen and Tim Moloi will add a romantic touch with a Frank Sinatra medley and the timeless Nat King Cole classic Unforgettable. Also singing will be former Durban opera singer Natalie Dickson who is on her way to the UK to study at the Royal College of Music.

Hosted by FNB Corporate, the concert has become one of the most memorable and sought-after events in the Durban social calendar during its five year history.

The concert takes place on June 1 at 17h30. Tickets R65 (R60 DCC members and R30 children). Bookings can be made through Computicket or at the gate on the night of the concert.
