On September 23 at 20h30, M-Net is to broadcast a two-hour recording of Kat and the Kings when it played the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town. This play by the talented duo of David Kramer and Taliep Petersen was awarded two Laurence Olivier Theatre Awards on the London West End, as well as Best New Musical. The cast collectively won Best Actor in a musical. The production and its cast are also FNB Vita winners.

The broadcast will be a poignant reminder of the incredible talent of Salie Daniels who started the well-known group, the Cavalla Kings and on whom Kat and the Kings is based. Salie Daniels died earlier this year but fortunately not before he was able to experience the show’s tremendous triumph on the West End.

Other actors in the production are Jody Abrahams, Loukmaan Adams, Junaid Booysen, Alistair Izobelle and Lucy Dixon
