Mr Q’s full name is Qunta Mbele, better known as the leader of the band Stax, which was thought to be the most famous band in KwaZulu Natal during the 80’s.

Though classically trained, the versatile pianist-singer entertains with a wide repertoire of light jazz, soulful ballads and pop hits. He can sail smoothly from an Elton John number to a Barry White ballad. With his charismatic personality, Mr Q is truly an artist for every occasion; corporate and private.

Five days a week Mr Q is hard at work producing demos for unknown artists at KwaMashu’s 281 Recording Studios. He also teaches piano and keyboard at monthly workshops in the city centre. His first solo album in fifteen years is due for release over the Easter holidays.
