Gito Baloi and Nibs van der Spuy will appear in concert at the Rainbow Restaurant & Jazz Club in Pinetown for the first time on March 16. They will perform with special guests Elad Neeman and Yaniv.

Gito Baloi and Nibs van der Spy have recently completed their first collaborative album. Both musicians have solid careers in South African music with many solo and group recordings to their credit (Gito with Tananas and Nibs with Landscape Prayers). A few years ago the two friends started jamming together. This lead to a number of duet performances across the country. Now their dynamic blend of musical influences and extraordinary talents exist as the CD entitled Sweetthorn.

This year Gito and Nibs team up with two renowned middle-eastern percussionists, Elad Neeman and Yaniv, for a national tour to introduce Sweetthorn to their varied audience base. Neeman and Yaniv are masters of oud, sitar, tamburka, jembe and talking drum.

The concert will take place on March 16. Doors open at 12h00, with the first set at 13h00. Entrance R25.
