The KZN provincial Department of Education and Culture will host a Human Rights Workshop for artists on March 27 in Ladysmith. Project co-ordinators, arts administrators and facilitators in all disciplines should attend this workshop as it deals with artists’ rights, copyright structures, access to funding, etc.

As one of the items on a valued programme, artSMart editor Caroline Smart will give a presentation on how to deal with the daunting application forms required by funding bodies such as the NAC, KZN Arts & Culture Council, the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and Business and Arts South Africa.

Transport will be laid on by the department and a bus will leave at 06h00 from the Documentation Centre in Derby Street. The programme will run from 10h00 to 16h00 in the Ladysmith Town Hall.

Those wishing to attend are asked to contact Principal Cultural Officers Eben Otto or Di Miller on 031 309-7559, 082 574-9281 or e-mail culturendr@telkomsa.net without delay.
