Durban-based instrumental music band Landscape Prayers are currently launching their new album. This event overlaps with a national tour of SA rock giants Tree 63, which they are supporting.

Both bands are supported by Mr Price's RT label and are known for their absolute professionalism, integrity, innovation and commitment to creating outstanding original music in their respective genres - rock in the case of Tree 63 and (although not easy to pigeon hole) acoustic South African world music in the case of Landscape Prayers.

In between the Tree 63 tour, Landscape Prayers will launch their new CD Lontano, the fourth album under the Sheer Sound label. It has been a collaboration with innovative Italian Celtic-influenced group, the Modena City Ramblers, with whom they performed at the Standard Bank Awesome Africa music festival in Shongweni in 2000. The new album is being released jointly in South Africa and in Italy - with the Italian leg of the launch happening mid-year.

The Italian-African combination exceeded all expectations with the new CD boasting a truly eclectic musical style. Landscape Prayers is known for its wide range of musical influences which produce a distinctive boundary-breaking sound. Rooted in African acoustic rock, the band combines other musical elements such as baroque, classical, celtic, blue grass, swing and oriental styles in to a unique original hybrid.
