A physical theatre residency started last year at St Anne’s in Hilton with the Cape-Town based company from the hip was such a success that a repeat project is in place this year.

Grade 10 Drama students have gone through an intensive five-day course of technical and creative physical theatre and movement classes, workshops and video lectures. Their work culminates in The Alice Project which runs from January 30 to February 1 in The Theatre at St Anne’s.

The Alice Project tells the story of the eternal battle between ordinary people and vast corporations for the human soul. Laced with verbal, visual and physical clowning and charged with an almost anarchic energy the production promises to take audiences on an irresistible journey into imagination and creation. The aim is to reaffirm the belief in the magic and playfulness of live entertainment. Running time about one hour.

All performances start at 19h30. Details or bookings on 033 343-3300.
