Asserting that they have temporarily delayed “their destiny to be on the next Monsters of Rock infomercial”, the Durban band Lilo offers an evening of acoustic entertainment at Rivets at the Durban Hilton International.

Described by Lilo as the “hip, suave and swinging speakeasy of choice for the cultural cognoscenti” and Durban's “debonair downtown drinking den”, the plush venue will bear testimony to Lilo's “disinterment of the dark and twisted roots of country music” when they showcase their original repertoire of sing-song. They will perform with only two acoustic guitars, voice and a drumkit.

The music starts around 21h30 on Wednesday (September 12) with two sets of 45 minutes each. Entrance fee of R10 entitles audience members to a “night of tall tales and wayward wanderings across the countryside where snakes and stones chew cactus hearts and mermaids sing of tractor parts.”
