NB: as of 23 September 2008, all new artSMart articles are being published on the site news.artsmart.co.za. On Sunday (June 24), Macrorie House Museum in Pietermaritzburg will host a visit from the Carbineers Band. They will play a selection of light music in the museum's attractive garden from 11h30 to 12h30. Now beautifully restored as a Victorian Museum, Macrorie House is the old home of Bishop Macrorie. Situated at 11 Loop Street it is even alleged to have a resident ghost upstairs. The Museum will be open from 10h30 until 15h00 and teas and light lunches will be on sale. Or visitors are welcome to bring a picnic, along with chairs and rugs, and settle down in the garden to enjoy the music. There will also be stalls selling second hand books and bric-a-brac. Entrance is R5 (R2 children and pensioners). More details on (031) 394-2161.
