High school learners who enjoy singing, dancing and acting and want to audition for an exciting new theatrical youth project should diarise 10h30 on June 17 at the DLI hall for auditions for the Robertsons Young Performers Charity Show – an exciting new production entitled Curtain Up.

Directed by Themi Venturas, the show promises to expose raw young talent as well as entertain audiences with a mixture of song, dance, humour and drama. He is looking for a cast of enthusiastic, committed, talented teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 years. They will need to have their own transport to and from rehearsals. They should also be available for rehearsals throughout the July school holidays and at the theatre from June 23 to 29 and for performances on July 26, 27 and 28 at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre.

Not only will the cast be gaining valuable experience by working in a professional theatre environment, learn new skills and have great fun in the process – they will also help to raise much-needed funds for charity. Show producers Robertsons (Pty) Ltd are supporting the arts in aid of charity as the whole project is a fund-raising drive for the Save the Children Fund.

All money raised through Curtain Up will go towards feeding and caring for children. Students interested in auditioning need to register by June 15 and must be available for auditions at the DLI Hall, DLI Avenue, Greyville, at 10h00 on June 17.
