The Ubuntu Community Chest has produced a charming CD/desk calendar to raise funds for the more than 50 charities that it supports.

The calendars are available in different themes: Africa Splendour or Natural World. artSMart purchased the former which has delightful images of wildlife photographed by Steve Bloom and Colin Mead. The monthly calendars are accompanied by an interesting range of sayings, such as: “Your worth should never depend on another person's opinion”, “Your real wealth can be measured not by what you have, but by what you are” or “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent”.

artSMart’s favourites are “Living a good life is the greatest revenge” and (highly relevant to the publications industry) “A goal is a dream with a deadline”.

The calendars cost R40 and are obtainable from the Community Chest’s ofices at 146 Florida Road. Phone Celeste or Fadeelah on 031 303 3890.
