DStv is continuing to integrate television and mobile communication with their interactive services that enable viewers to interact using their mobile phones.

September saw the launch of the new Ringtones & Logos interactive service on Channel 45 powered by Exact Mobile. Viewers are able to rapidly download a cutting edge selection of over 200 ringtones in categories which include the R ‘n B and Rap, Movie, Top 10 UK Charts, Top 10 ringtones for the day and mobile logos simply by selecting the code allocated to each and dialling a corresponding cell number.

Themed ringtones will also enlarge the selection, which currently features the best Rugby World Cup 2003 ringtones.

The service, targeted at young trendsetters in the 9-30 year old age group, is already proving a strong drawcard with the phenomenal downloads to date. A total of 295,315 downloads were recorded up to and including October 23, with an average of 5,572 downloads per day.
