One of South Africa's premier exhibition and event organisers, South Africa RAI, has announced its launch of a new consumer exhibition, The Hi-Fi & Home Entertainment Expo. The veteran organiser is partnered in this venture by specialist hi-fi and home entertainment industry doyen Loek Wiermans. The expo will take place from September 23 to 26 at Midrand's Gallagher Estate.

Since the lifting of sanctions in 1994, South Africa has experienced a massive influx of electronic products from a wide variety of “new” sources. Added to this is the rate at which the technologies driving the products are developing which means that the decision-making process of buying these goods can be extremely difficult and intimidating for most consumers.

The exhibition aims to empower consumers to make informed decisions based on accurate information obtained from many different manufacturers and an ability to see all the products and technologies available.

The expo expects to attract a wide selection of exhibitors with products ranging from audio; to video; TVs including plasma screens, LCD and rear projectors; digital cameras; computer games; Sony Playstation; and more.
