The popular Portuguese restaurant Coimbra celebrated its 16th birthday last week at its new Glenashley venue at 36 Newport Avenue.

With stunning views over the sea and an attractive outer terrace, the restaurant is bound to attract lovers of contemporary and traditional Portuguese fare.

At the launch, an auction was held of two artworks – one each from Peter Ford and Magrit Gregory-Pretorius – which raised R11,500 for the Golden Hours School in Durban North. The amount will be donated in the name of the Coimbra Sergio de Sousa Memorial Fund.
