The busy Saturday morning Essenwood Craft Market has kindly offered a free table every Saturday to promote what’s happening in the performing arts. It is staffed mostly by theatre enthusiast Sue Holloway from Caroline Smart Service's office and often features watercolourist and radio actor John Simpson at work on his LittleCards.

A display facility cleverly adapted from the usual craft market gazebo by Peter Gardner of Troubadour Productions presents weekly information in the form of posters and leaflets about theatre activities in Durban. Reviews which have appeared on the online arts magazine artSMart (www.artsmart.co.za) are available for the public’s perusal.

The table is also being used as a means of canvassing questionnaire candidates over the next few weeks, and to develop a database for direct marketing for theatre.

Any performing arts organisation wanting to promote shows should either get their publicity material to Caroline Smart’s offices before the Saturday markets or take them direct to the stand which is next to the refreshment area.
