At the beginning of the year the Durban Art Deco society became a sub-committee of the Itafa Amalinde Heritage Trust (formerly the Durban Heritage Trust) although they still operate as two groups.

From March 23 to 29, 2003, the Cape Town Art Deco Society will host the 7th World Congress on Art Deco (which is held in the USA one year and in another country the next).
