According to the organisers, the British Cultural & Heritage Association, the Combined Service Clubs Charity Raffle has gone extremely well since the launch on March 18. Close on 50,000 tickets have been distributed to over 45 different charities, schools, service clubs, non-profit organisations and the like - and there are still more than two months to go before the closing date of June 26!

Members of the public can take advantage of this excellent opportunity to win fabulous prizes while helping the many charities that are fighting to survive. Tickets sell for R5 each to the public and a book of 20 tickets will cost only R20 to charitable organisations (ie R4 of every ticket goes to the charity selling the ticket and the remaining R1 is split between the service clubs for their projects) to any charity, school, church or service club wanting to boost their existing income.

In the words of one of the participants: "The raffle is a blank cheque for any organisation willing to work and mobilise supporters to help and the prizes are indeed an incentive for anybody to part with R5!" Little admin is required on the part of the charities as the sponsors, prizes, publicity, Grand Draw, printing of posters and tickets is all arranged by the Committee and administrators!
