The Three Cities Group is to operate and market the brand new casino hotel in Pietermaritzburg.

The Golden Horse Casino Hotel will be a four star product with 96 bedrooms, and extensive banqueting and conference facilities. Situated at Scottsville Racecourse alongside the new multimillion rand casino, it is perfectly located to tap into the business needs of the city and entire region

The hotel is a welcome facility to the corporate and conference markets, in addition to providing a superb venue for functions and weddings.

"The Pietermaritzburg casino hotel is an appropriate extension to the Three Cities portfolio," commented managing director Alan Vels, "where we already have nine properties operating in similar markets in kwaZulu-Natal".

"The hotel will fall under the group's 'city hotel' umbrella alongside other properties spanning all of the country's major centres including Gauteng's Gold Reef City Casino Hotel and Durban's Royal and Riverside hotels," he added.

Construction is well underway and The Golden Horse will welcome its first guests in December 2001.
